Re: Packetloss on Infinity 2 in evenings?

[re: jchamier] [link to this post]

24 hours and only 1 point where the packet loss rise to 1% loss.

Since the changed hardware the packet loss seems to be gone, so looking good.

I didn't post on this website to get help, I had done all checks before sending this off to BT. I simply registered to agree with this person and provide updates for anyone else experiencing the same problem as whom. Come Monday providing these results stay the same I will be closing the case as resolved, the hardware being the problem @ BT Wholesale.

Perhaps, since your PC finished downloading updates from Patch Tuesday, it's no longer causing packet loss?

I don't download, so your logic is flawed.

It also adds to the point I've never received packet loss or failed to connect to servers because I've been downloading in the past.

This problem has been going on for around 3 weeks, so your posts are really irrelevant.

You should really stop replying...

I would of mentioned If he was specific.

I will quote what I was told again as you have reading problems.

"Our suppliers found some issues on the core network. This needed some equipment to be replaced and the traffic across the network was split into two routes."

Oh, so the hardware that was replaced earlier which you said resulted in you "seeing packet loss throughout the day now recently on average around 4% packet loss", is now responsible for fixing your packet loss completely.

Interesting.

You are cute, try reading.

I'm not denying I had around 4% packet loss at the start of transition but that could be because they were moving peoples routing. Now there are even people on each, it has now calmed down. There is next to no packet loss now, nothing has changed my end at all. Like it hasn't since the install of Infinity... the new hardware has helped considerably.

Looks like guesswork to me, not based on any facts. But as long as it's fixed for you, everyone's happy.

No guess work by my side, I'm still skeptical whether it has been resolved or not as I've seen days like this in the past (this being the best yet). With the last few days being good as well so it's looking up. Whether it was the IP change or the hardware change from the 86 domain to the 31 I don't know. I've had problems with the 131 (or 139, Can't remember off the top of my head) IP's in the past so it could well of been but just a coincidence I feel at this time.

I guess you've missed the point of the TBB forums as a peer-to-peer (user-to-user) self help resource; guess you'll give up posting very soon.
