My latency is higher because my speed is 1/3 of what you have.
Ummm. I don't think so.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 54.2/15.2Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

I know where you are coming from, the average will be the same but the yellow is due to watching a 1080p 60FPS stream @ 5500 bitrate. Also then browsing + a couple more people on the net.

That will do it. You should really baseline your latency when nobody is using the net - and no background downloads (e.g. PS3 update, Windows Update etc).

James BT Infinity 2 19/09/2012 - Estimate 44.6/6.5 - Install 52/12 - Actual 46 / 8 Mbps
Huawei VDSL -> Draytek router -> Apple Airport Extreme -> Belkin Switch -> Windows/Mac/Linux/NAS/Phone
13 years of broadband - 1999 ntl:(512k/1M)/BTbusiness(2M)/Metronet(2M)/Bulldog(8M/16M)/BE(19M/16M)/BT FTTC(46M)

I rarely download, I downloaded yesterday for around an hour for the first time in a couple of days. When I downloaded Visual Studio 2012, the packet loss was fine for that as well... so it isn't really a problem when using all the bandwidth.

When I first started getting it, it was only when I was browsing and that was 20/30% loss.

http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping/share/11fe1afb5b4...

From 10pm which is me streaming then when the blue doubles is me downloading a patch for l4d2. You can see the packet loss is very minimal, a quick question not really looked at all the settings in the Modem. Is it possible to ping the modem (HG612 unlocked)? Still using the HomeHub will replace it soon probably wait for the new Draytek router to come out.

The packet loss has improved though rather a lot, I can actually watch streams now without getting pauses because of it. We just need to make it all go away, Ed will be getting back to on Monday.

Edit: I swear every time I talk about it comes back, just had spikes off around 7%.

No, its invisible as the PPPoE session goes to the router through the modem.

You can configure the unlocked modem as a modem/router and ping that.

It looks like the packet loss is just on your PC, as it's not on your gateway or the next hop.

Just stop replying please, your comments are useless. The packet loss happened all the way to the last hop and happens to all PCs/laptops on our network.

Using the modem as a router isn't an option for me.

Here's the ping graph of your gateway - no packet loss http://oi48.tinypic.com/2e5nq5h.jpg

It's the 2nd hop on a traceroute - to the BBC, for example.
