Noticed a pattern sort of... when the packetloss is displayed on the gateway it will be displayed on the my connection at basically the identical times but you see it will affect my connection a tad before and a bit after it shows on the gateway.

Gateway
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping/share/444ac5eb550...

Connection
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping/share/a36e5589523...

Also, since the packetloss has been occuring on the gateway I've had problems watching streams, constant buffering every 3 seconds. frown

Also getting tons of FEC since the swap from 80/20 to 40/10, around 200 FEC and 4000 CRC on 80/10 @ 26.3Mbps sync (48 hour connection). Now on 40/10 getting 59m+ FEC errors, around 15, 000 a min at times and 9000 CRC + 5000HEC (overall). This on a 24.3Mbps sync with a connection time of 38 hours. The SNR being 5.8 day time, max of 6.1 but normally around 5.5 then at night time dropping to 5.1. When I was on 80/20 the SNR was 5.9/6 the majority of the time but ranging from 5.6 to 6.7SNR.

Is the gateway showing any packet loss on f8lure?

No, but f8lure didn't always show it for my connection as well and now it's nuts.

They seem to report different packet loss at different times...

Probably means the BT network has lots of different routes to get to and from the gateway. Any one of which could be having issues.

James BT Infinity 2 19/09/2012 - Speeds ~46 / ~8.5 Mbps - Sync 48.9 / 10 Mbps @ 470m
Huawei modem -> Draytek 2820 -> Airport Extreme -> Switch -> Windows/Mac/Linux/NAS/Phone/TV
13 years of broadband - 1999 ntl:(512k/1M)/BTbusiness(2M)/Metronet(2M)/Bulldog(8M/16M)/BE(19M/16M)/BT FTTC(46M)

If you compare the traceroutes, you may see the difference and maybe narrow down the problem

Qas on another forum did some investigating.

According to him the issue is on BT's link to the 'LINX' secondary public peering network', which happens to be where TBB traffic travels to BT. He hasnt found it on any other routes.

Also it seems right now BT are playing with the routing tbb uses as I am having to browse this forum with one of my proxies currently.

BT Infinity 2 Since Dec 2012 - Estimate 65.9/20 - Attainable peak 110/36 - Current Sync 70/20, Current Attainable 68/23 frown

When I was using WinMTR all the packet loss was happening from hop 3 to the destination hop, I didn't get any packetloss on Hop 1 or 2 which is the local loop, though looking at the graph this morning.

Gateway?
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping/share/4198ebd9f07...

Maybe an upgrade, new hardware?

Show's the exact same on my graph, though I think this is due to TBB as none of it show's on f8lure.

turns out this is affecting VM as well (todays loss spikes), so its not BT routing related.

It was due to the TBB ping box, so it should be on all graphs or at least the majority.
