Must admit I'm confused by thee posts on this topic here and elsewhere. And the email from BT isn't helpful.

We are currently on a BT telephone line package "Unlimited Anytime Calls" with "inclusive calls to UK Landlines Anytime". The My Products page also says

Included in your phone package
* Unlimited calls to UK landlines at any time
* Inclusive calls to 0845 and 0870 numbers at any time
* Get BT privacy, BT answer 1571, and BT 1471 calling features at no extra cost

We pay the line rental annually so it's Line Rental Saver, this will be due for renewal in mid-November and are currently likely to do so.

We have never used BT voicemail (1571) nor do we intend to do so.

I realise that the line rental is likely to increase but what I'm really not sure is whether we will incur any additional charges for Caller Display or similar.

Anyone able to help?

Yes, unless you sign up for free caller display: http://www.bt.com/freecallerdisplay

Note: you have to do this to continue to get free caller display.

So does our Anytime package put us in the excluded category? After all I'm not directly a "BT Privacy with Caller Display" customer.

If you get caller display for free now, you are eligible for that offer.

No, Anytime does not include any type of Caller Display; it's a paid-for add-on Calling Feature.

Probably not. There are 2 variants of BT Privacy; one 'With Caller Display'; and one w/out. That latter remains free after Jan; it's the the former that is being charged £1.75 pm after Jan. It sounds as tho' you have the latter, but you should check your Calling Features in your MyBT a/c. It's not obvious that there are 2 types of BT Privacy.

I have Caller Display but, as it says in My BT and in the OP

Get BT privacy, BT answer 1571, and BT 1471 calling features at no extra cost

and there's nothing in the My Extras section of My BT. But I do have Caller Display. I guess the question is What is it in my package that gives me Caller Display?.

Given that we are likely to renew the annual line payment then I can see no reason not to pre-register for Caller Display with its 12-month term implication.
