BT Wholesale test:

Download speed 75.13Mbps
IP Profile 77.43Mbps

Upload speed 8.81Mbps
IP Profile 20Mbps
That's 80/20 throughput

Yes on the BTW test page only, everything else be it a speedtest site or a large download shows 38Mbit

Definitely a hard 40/10Mbps cap somewhere.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 59.4/14.4Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

Yes, that's because the wholesale test bypasses the ISP side profile doesn't it? I thought we'd seen that when PlusNet's profile was wrong, the wholesale test showed the capability of the sync, not the throughput to the ISP.

No. If the Plusnet copy IP Profile is low, it affects the BTW speedtest result.

Ok that makes sense.

I think more data has arrived now showing a faulty HomeHub 5. (strange fault !).
