Thanks for the details, but the install happened yesterday, so all I have is the BT Hub v5.

I also have a Technicolour TG582N if it's any help?

On the installation day an engineer should install a modem, either a ECI or a HG612.

Not since Jan 1st 2014.

Now ISPs can have a "wires only" install where the engineer has no need to visit your home. The ISP just posts you a router, and you use it with microfilters (as we all did in the past with ADSL).

Afraid not, you could buy a HG612 off a well known auction site.

I did forget this at the time but I don't know any ISPs who have offered this yet, I would expect BT to offer it first.

Though I think fixing the HH5 so it doesn't reset every day for a majority should be their priority first.

My mate was installed 6th Jan, Sky Fibre, no visit from openreach. They posted him the SR102 hub and filters.
