I've just moved to BT from Sky
every thing seemed to be fine except I have 4 ip cameras detup at the far end of the garage/garden. I ran them through a couple of poewerline adaptersthen into the sky router. but they wont even show up as devices on the Hhub. any one have an idea what might be stopping them ?
I've had them running for months on the sky router.

Have you restarted the cameras to ensure they grab their IP addresses? Assuming you use DHCP.

If setup on static IP addresses maybe these need updating.

yes I have reset the cameras. but the hub is not seeing them

What do you need to configure in the hub?
Or do you mean they're not even working locally?

The first thing I'd do is to establish that you can communicate back to the home hub by plugging a laptop in place of the camera. If that doesn't work, I might suspect something between the powerline adapter and home hub (if it's an HH5, they are gigabit ports and ought to auto-negotiate). If you haven't done it, power cycle the powerline adapters.

Another thing to try is plugging a camera direct into the hub to see if it's visible directly connected.

Basically do a set of elimination tests. Usually you end up banging your head when you realise what the issue is.

No they are not working locally. so no need to port forward as they don't show as conected devices any way.

1. Where the cameras set to use DHCP?

2. If the cameras were on static IP addresses, do the ranges match what the HomeHub is handing out.

3. Have you tried pinging the IP addresses for the cameras?

4. What make/model of camera, it may trigger some knowledge of a problem with DHCP with certain routers.

Not showing on the hub doesn't necessarily mean a device isn't connected. The hub has issues in this regard, especially with devices using static IP - some of mine have never shown up, but are connected fine.

If you unplug and then replug a camera, and look under Troubleshooting/Event log, you can see if there are corresponding client associated/disassociated entries.
