I guess as there is some LLU presence it's cheaper as there is cheaper competing services.

The agent that gave me mine suggested it had been hit and miss getting them instantly, so I was expecting to have to wait. Thankfully after a couple of minutes he got the code.

Have no problem it is public and the data was culled from our news of price announcements and changes to ISP listings.

Reminds me - need to add the changes on 1st December warning to the BT listings.

I requested a MAC code this morning and was told it would be sent via email in the next 48 hours.

I was just told 7 days this morning as well. I pointed out that it was meant to be 5 maximum; but there wasn't any point arguing with the friendly guy on the other end of the line. (edit ... Especially as I was wrong, as Oliver341 has just pointed out). I'd already disappointed him by not taking any of the discounts he had to offer. He said it might well be today or tomorrow.

Ofcom rules are 5 working days, which is at least 7 days, possibly more when public holidays come in to play.

Your existing ISP must provide the MAC to you within five working days and its valid for a period of 30 days.

Oliver.
