But you can get the money back using the Direct Debit guarantee.

Cheers for this.

I spoke to their twitter team and they said my contract was over, seemed confused and cancelled the direct debit on their side. Was told I'd now get final bill in 40 days but can't do it now as account is open for "Broadband Billing"

Thing is, my broadband doesn't switch over till tuesday, I know this, the post office knows this, my IP address even says it's still a BT one but they flat out disagree and say they're not providing my broadband.

It's a bit messy to be honest but I'll just leave it, see what happens Wednesday when the money should be taken and if it isn't... wait some more.

True you can..

But its its owned money will still have the same result as cancelling it before funds are taken.
