2 modems on 1 connection

Dont know if this would work.

My existing modem is connected via a cat5 cable to the rear of my BT faceplate.
What would happen if I connected another modem to the front of the face plate using a RJ11 plug?
Would I get 2 connections on 2 IP addresses?

No - this will not work. I'm not sure you'd even get one connection with two modems trying to get sync.
