Re: Infinity 2

From what I gather from Saffy, the speeds I am getting are the speeds my line is capable of, so technically, there is nothing wrong. Unless I am missing something.

I am not now seeking the higher speeds, since it appears clear I am getting the best I can, what I am seeking is how I can get BT to admit their error and put me on Infinity 1 unlimited.

I have raised an incident but have had absolutely no response at all, and I really do not want to talk to them, if I can avoid it.

All the houses have the grey openreach box outside and all have had new faceplates fitted.

It shouldn't be re-sync'ing that frequently, though the BT Home Hub apparently does once a month for many users.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 57.2/15.0Mbps @ 600m. - IPv4BQM IPv6BQM

If you go to this page and scroll down to the section "External NTE", is that the grey box we are talking about?

No, I have done that myself, once as the connection stalled, the other time, as I was moving power sockets around.

Stuck then frown. Getting downgraded to Infinity 1 looks to be the only course. If all else fails with BT support the Serious Complaints team at the CEO's office is easily contacted - [email protected] gets them.

What is actually installed inside?

Is there a master with components fitted?

Have you tried the BT Wholesale test to see what that gives --- run the test and then further diagnostics. http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/

It's a protruding faceplate with an RJ11 and a BT Line Jack socket, no filters externally.

I'll have to run the test when I get home.

If you take off the 'phone (voice) plate, you should then be able to take the filter assembly off. That will leave two screws to allow you to remove the final layer - when you remove those, what is on the back where the wires are connected? Are there components or a 60x25mm cover over some?

Can you remove each part and upload some images of them.

I am wondering if you have had a master installed and that may be causing a few issues?
