Plug and play - as long as you're happy setting up a PPPOE connection on the airport. Important thing to remember is the username: [email protected]

Also, the password is empty if the AEP allows that, or anything you like if it demands something. BT broadband login recognises you from the line details, not the username + password.

Ok having a few problems here.

Got the new HG612 and am obviously doing something wrong.

612 is plugged into the wall socket, APE is plugged into LAN1 with all internal devices connected to APE via either wireless or wired.

Set APE for PPPoE and set router mode to DHCP and NAT and am getting:

No DNS Servers
No PPPoE server
No Internet Connection

The 612 appears connected to the internet, according to the DSL light.

Could someone please explain the exact steps I need to do in order to get this working?

Unfortunately due to this messing about, my connection has dropped from 25 to 23 frown

Does everything work if you plug the modem into the HH5 and use the HH5 instead of the APE ?

I haven't tried. I just don't think the APE has been configured right.

There is no DNS address and its DHCP is in the 10.x.x.x range.

Therefore I can't even log into the 612.

Did you set the HG612 back to bridge mode? Easiest is to do a factory reset, which retains the hacked version.

You have definitely connected HG612 LAN 1 to APE WAN port, not a LAN port? With an Ethernet cable?

With a 10.x.x.x DHCP range you should be fine - the HG612 should use an appropriate address. Try 10.0.0.1, ...138, ...254

As suggested do a factory reset of the HG612 and try again.

I can't get into the 612 but why would it have bridge mode since it is only a modem, not a router?

And yes to the other connections.
