With the 612 not connected to the line, set your PC?MAC to a fixed IP address of 192.168.1.100 and then connect direct to the 612 (LAN2). In a browser go to 192.168.1.1 and you should see a login page - admin admin When you have accessed the interface you should be able to see the settings.
Click on BASIC, then LAN. At the top is a section LAN HOST Settings. Assuming your normal LAN uses 10.0.1.x then set the IP address to 10.0.1.216 - 216 because it is 612 reversed and the SUBMIT. And check that DHCP is NOT selected
Change your PC/MAC IP address to 10.0.1.100 and then use the browser to access 10.0.1.216 - you should get through to the modem again.
The 612 has two interfaces - one where it is acting as a modem and that is on LAN 1. LAN 2 is a separate interface that allows yopu access in to tweak the modem or look at the stats.
Disconnect and set your PC back to automatically get an IP address.
The APE is the DHCP server.
Now, without the line connected. 612- LAN1 >> APE-WAN; APE-LAN1 >> PC/MAC; 612-LAN2 >> APE-LANx
From the browser; 10.0.1.216 and you will have access to the 612s modem management interface.
