Re: BT have broken the HH5 A

[re: deleted] [link to this post]

Hi sorry about the delay ...Well my WIFI is total garbage.....After the HH rebooted its self mid morning and now HH5 has rebooted its self several times now the signal is constantly dropping out and can not connect even though [various machines] can see the HH5 broadband. It also does not happen on all m/c's at the same time?
What was changed yesterday was 2.4GHtz was changed to channel 13: 5GHTZ was changed to channel 44 Smart off. I have been waiting all day for a reply to the text contact they [support] requested I use. I am just about to restore the default on the Advanced settings but I am doubtful because can not see this stopping rebooting?

TheEulerID,
I have exactly the same symptoms as you describe, I will try your 2.5ghz fix and see if it fixes the problem.
Its been a frustrating week trying to PD the problem, kids and the wife are not happy and I as the IT guru have been getting it in the neck laugh.

It looks as if BT have applied a hot fix to the existing firmware build. The file downloaded on my Home Hub 5A on 22 Feb was

(86439.210000) CWMP: Download file, FileType=4, FileName=5A-FixMajorUpgrade-4.1.tar.gz.aes.rsa.signed, Username=, CommandKey=1952339795

The software version remained as Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.204 (Type A) Last updated 19/01/15.

It has stopped the random disconnects but the 3 day reboots continue!
