Sorry you disagree with the language filters, but had to remove the second post because of the same word.

I'm actually pretty speechless to be honest, you've managed to make a totally innocuous word look horrendous, well done, i applaud you and your dedication to the cause of cleaning up the internet.

Why do people use web speedtest for wireless, it can't max it out, why not use on our lan FTP , windows network file sharing/samba or if your really know what your doing Ipref.

My tests with a BT home hub 4 as a access point connected to a decent router point to about 150-250Mbps / 15-25MB/s file transfers. I'd expect about 400-600mbps maybe more with a low end AC1200 wireless.

What is innocuous to some is mildly offensive to others and with the need to avoid getting lumped into 'adult content' forums due to language we have to run algorithms to remove anything sensitive.

So for the record the word was in the mild category rather than full on 18 certificate.

Agree with you. I see around 400Mbps when the AC works correctly. Otherwise I see around 10Mbps or slower, same as the poster here. The entire AC spectrum is reduced, both internally (internal file transfers to NAS) and externally (external speedtest).

Connected TXrate remains over 700Mbps with signal RSSI: -45dBm

I'm using the -204 software on a type A.
I regularly do speed tests - but only really focussed on internet capability as any local fast data is mostly between machines on a local 1 Gbps connection
pretty much always 31/6.5 which is my BB speed.. so I can't say I've noticed ANY speed drops.

The hub has been stable for around 5 weeks -- it rebooted a week ago (remote command). Seperate modem. Prior to this I did have issues & was trying other routers.. in fact the 2.4Ghz would just disappear, but oddly all ok now.

Majority of slowdowns on the 5A reduce the speed to approx 25 to 30 Mbps, so that would make sense. A reboot makes it go from around 28Mbps back to 38 for me. Given a 31 sync I don't think you would really notice a slowdown.

5B is a lot more affected, dropping to sub 10Mbps.

BT seem to think this is isolated to just my Type B, sometimes they seem to just talk kack, not listen to a word you've said and bury their heads in the sand.

I've no idea why i have tried this but i've also turned off WPS in the vain hope the 5GHz speeds stay up, ill let you know when it fails lol

Try turning off smart setup as well - some say it slows the speeds down on BT forums, although I see slowdown either way.

Agreed, BTs customer service is quite dire, to the point you give up. I would happily work with a development team to conduct testing and help out if given the opportunity, but instead I am told to run 15 Ethernet cables to my homehub, only connect 4 devices by a wire at a time, & to disable the wireless entirely, as speeds are only guaranteed on wired. This is their "fix. iPads, macbooks, tablet computers, kindle readers and any other device without ethernet can all be offline 24/7 no problemo. smile
