After 2 months of arguing with Openreach - and getting a different reason why we couldn't have super fast every single time, and absolutely no escalation - out of desperation we emailed our MP, who was in touch the same day herself. After picking myself up off the floor, and reminding myself they work for us, she sent off an email to Openreach which had them scrambling around offering to reroute us.

Our cabinet had been installed specifically by Superfast Cymru about 10 months ago and activated back in November (I'd seen the engineer do it), but it turns out that it was simply, but sadly, a database error at Openreach who had us on a different cabinet and therefore appearing about 5km away. It took a month between the database update by a local engineer to allow us to order super fast, but finally it did.

Frankly I'm just thrilled to have it, I live very rurally, and have only 8 lines on the cabinet, so I didn't think we'd ever get it no matter what. With 6MB ADSL Max, and 1 bar of 2G mobile service, I thought I'd be in one of the not-spots forever!

If you know the actual route the cable takes, try measuring from house to pole, pole to PCP and PCP to FTTC Cab. Remember to include the climb up the pole, run down the house wall, internal wiring to the hub. from cabinets into the ground - all small but they do add up.

It's all, but the last 100m or so, above ground so it's easy to trace, although I've not quite gone out with a surveyors measuring wheel or anything

Not sure what use this information is but my Smart Hub gives around the same sync as both my HH5 type A & B and as the Huawei modem and plugging a Three Home Signal femtocell in made no difference.
