Re: Which Router for highest speed with BT ADSL2+ Internet?

I've done this with a 585v7 https://community.plus.net/t5/Library/Forcing-adsl-M... If you can not source a good used Billion, that you might use for a few months until FTTP is available, a cheap, working, used Thomson router off ebay could also be useful...

You can't set your router to a higher protocol than your ISP has set. You can only set it to the same as or lower. (You might make the setting in the router but it will always be forced to train down to at most the ISP's setting).

The implication is BT have you set to ADSL.

Connections: OnePlus 8 Pro, 4G+ (LTE) max 165Mbps down, 24Mbps up on Three Mobile, and B311 4G+ router, tbb tests normally 35-45Mpbs down, 65Mbps off-peak, 9-24 up (Three)ZTE MF286D router speedtest.net 113/20Mbps.

Reason I asked OP to try router forcing to see if BT had set.

Yep, I know you know, but not sure the OP does smile.

Possibly they just uncapped the ADSL1 upstream rate from 448Kbps to ~832Kbps.

No they can't. 448Kbps remain the same for upload on ADSL1 (downstream remain the same on 8128Kbps)

He can ask BT to upgraded him to ADSL2+ to get higher sync rate for his downstream (up to 21000Kbps) and upstream up to (max is 1279Kbps)

Agreed.
As OP is having problems with BT phone support. Listed this as alternative link, top level, to discuss problem and maybe get a result. ie community.bt.com

Yes, from your link, I was thinking BT retail could have upgraded G.992.1(DMT) to "premium" and uncapped the upstream rate if such a thing is possible - it certainly was available with ADSL on a 20CN exchange.
