BT/TNT Sport

[link to this post]

My BT 4k box has been unable to show any of the BT/TNT Sport channels since 6th Dec. Extensive rebooting of every device in the house as well as cable swapping have proved to BT that its a multicast problem (apparently). They seem unable to fix it.
ONT rebooted, hub rebooted/swapped, BT box swapped. cabling all swapped. Problem persists.
No resolution. BT even admit that the IPC6023 error message is incorrect.
CEO's office contacted, no action so far. Nine days without Sport is ridiculous.
Thos only affects the BT Sport channels. All other streaming services work fine

Have BT fouled up with your account so the Sport channels are no longer enabled?

Have you posted on the BT Community forum , the BT Mods , one of which is a BTTV ‘expert’ , and judging from other queries raised and the answers / resolutions provided, obviously has a high level of access into BTTV systems.

They insist not and tell me it's a multicast problem. I'm unconvinced, as the date of the problems starting coincided with the "EE" rebrand

BT are forever breaking stuff.

When we were with BT for our FTTP Broadband our MyBT page never worked worked, we couldn't even look at our bill, we had to rely on the emails, upgrades / renewal etc was always done over the phone and were always better than what was shown on their products section.

While BT are still our Phone provider, I haven't really check that section since we moved to a different broadband provider.

I remember when a home was being renovated near me and a crane broke our fibre cable, BT asked me to connect the Smart Hub up so they could do tests and they were insistent that they were able to connect to the Hub even though the fibre cable was coiled up in our garden by the CSP Box.

So not all staff members know what they are doing, so I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case this time with your issue.

But give them time and if no joy within 7 to 10 working day then phone them back up and explain the issue, but keep calm and not have a go at them.

what speed does a speed test show that you are getting? the multicast sport channels require a higher bandwidth than streaming say netflix or now content. As an interim, you could try accessing the live channels via the Discovery + app stream's if you have the newest Pro box

Speedtest is rock solid as always.. BT acknowledge it is not on my premises
BT know its a Multicast problem their end but they are unable to fix it.
I have no Discovery app.
My disability prevents prolonged watching on a laptop

If it is a multicast problem at their end would there not be many other users reporting similar problems? Not seeing that over on the BT user forums.

However, I think other users have had problems with their account set up following the BT to TNT rebrand and I strongly advise you raise this with Darren over on the BT user forums who is part of their BT TV development team and who has helped progress such issues for other users.
