Belkin 7633 - Connected but no internet

Hi,

I've got a slightly weird problem with my Belkin 7633 modem/router. All has been grand until the last few days when it's allowed me to connect and come up with an excellent signal strength, yet refused point blank to let me go onto the internet/collect email etc.

I've tried rebooting/restarting and made sure the wireless phone was unplugged (worked fine before). But all that seems to happen is that a few hours later it decides it's okay.

Do any of you know of a similar problem, or give me some hints to try and track down the problem. Only have the one computer to test and don't want to go try changing channels without reason.

I'm using the WPA security feature as read too many horror stories, but this shouldn't affect things.

Help, thoughts?

Sounds like the router is not connected to the internet.

What does the router home page say ?

Sorry, been out of the country.

When I log into the router, it says it's connected to the internet.

I've tried restarting the router and even changed the channel, but this doesn't seem to work until I go back to 11 and then it works again.

The problem is that it's intermittant, so not sure what could be causing this.

Anyone got any clues?

Presume you mean the dial on demand aspect?

Spoke to someone at Belkin who suggested turning this off, but as the problem has re-occurred yet, I don't know if that will solve the problem.

There doesn't seem to be a timeout per se. The problem comes from trying to connect and the modem saying it's connected in the setup utility, but the computer says not.
