Wireless adsl router with QoS + large throughput

[link to this post]

Okay, ive gone trough two routers now, a D-link 604+ and a Linksys WAG54G, both were complete rubbish lasting about a year each. I download alot of stuff, and use BT and Emule quite alot, so i need a router that can handle alot of connections and throughput... I also need some QoS services so i can leave BT and Emule on, and play CS source and browse the web at a decent speed.

So im looking at a stable router with QoS one that can run linux would be a bonus... So far ive considered the a D-link 604T, linksys WAG354G or a netgear DG834GT.

Any advice?

Thanks
Wil

you may want to consider a DRAYTEK

If you want any sort of aftersales support whatsoever drop the consideration of the Netgear.

Their support function is like a mouldy chocolate teapot - not fit for the purpose it was intended not for any other useful purpose.

I know these are fairly cheap to buy but have you considered the Safecom brand?

I've had one running for a couple of weeks now and its put my Netgear DG834G to shame.

Yea? If it can handle 200 similtanious connections, and pretty hard usage, then thats cool. I can get an RMA on the linksys one, but, im not quite sure if the new models are worth it. My other idea was to slap a adsl pci card in my linux server, and use it as a wireless router, would it be as effective?

Have you looked at billion? I have a 7402vgp and it has the QOS features you are looking for. I remember reading somewhere that it has enough memory for 1500 simultaneous NAT sessions.

Ah billion look good too, 1500 similtanious connections but i went with a safecom off ebuyer, you can flash to firmware to a linux based version, so im sure i will beable to tweak it to handle loads of connections, act as a print server, and sort out my Q0S problems...

Thanks for all your help!
