router problem

i'm using an SAR715 router

until recently whenever i start up bitorrent i literally can't surf the web, (will get time out errors or internet explorer says at the bottom ''connectiong to IPADDRESS'' and hangs there for a long while before partially load a page

i am not out of bandwidth i am sure of that, and this problem has only recently came up out of nowhere, and has stayed throughout my migration from plusnet to newnet so i'm thinking its a hardware problem,

and btw i'm not flooding it with hundres of connections, this happens even if i limit the connections to 30 max

any ideas anyone?
