DG834G - automatic ADSL connection?

[link to this post]

I am currently waiting for ADSL to be enabled on my phone line. I am told this could take anywhere between 3 and 14 days depending on who you talk to.

If I leave my router plugged into the phone line and with the correct ISP log in settings (Newnet in this case) will it automatically sense when ADSL is enabled on the line and try and connect? Or will I have to reboot each night until it happens?

I presume when it senses an ADSL connection the green " i " light wil illuminate?

The ADSL light should flash (orange from memory) until the line is activated, when it will synch and turn solid green. You should then be able to log in. Others could possibly advise on whether it's best not to set the router information until your line is activated - I'm not sure whether there would be any downside, can't think of one offhand, but you never know...

Yes the 'i' light will turn green when it has sync. If you've entered the details right it will sync and connect to NewNet as soon as the line is activated, so just leave it turned on.
