I've recently acquired a Speedtouch 585 to solve stability issues on my Max line. Whilst this has done just the trick, I have lost some functionality from my old Efficient 5930 router, and I was hoping some of you more experienced folk could advise me on the best course of action!
On the Efficient routers (5861, 5930, etc) I was able to run NAT and "No-NAT" simultaneously. Unfortunately the Speedtouch 585 only seems to support one or the other - not both at the same time. I've gone through the manual, but please correct me if I'm wrong!
I did find that the router supports routed IP -> NAT'd IP translation (via the CLI command "nat mapadd ...."). Unfortunately, for the applications that I'm hosting that is insufficient and I need a properly routed IP.
So, in summary I have two questions:
(1) Am I missing something on the 585? Or is it just not possible?
(2) If it's not possible, I'll quite happily buy another basic WAN router and use that for internal NAT. Any particular recommendations? QoS would be nice, as would 8 100Mbps ports, but I'm not that fussy.
Thanks in advance,
Sam
