Speedtouch 585v6: Howto DSL reconnect ?

[link to this post]

Hi, I have been using a Speedtouch 585v6 for a few months now. It generally works fine. However, on power cuts etc, when it reconnects it sometimes reconnects at too high a speed for my line (6,176 rather than 58xx on a 5.5 Km line).
I need to get the router to reconnect at the DSL level so that it will re-sync at the slightly lower rate that works. The Speedtouch 585v6 web GUI only appears to allow a TCP/IP level reconnection not a DSL level reconnection. Is there some way of getting the router to reconnect at the DSL level without rebooting ?
I guess a longer term solution would be to alter the min SNR ratitio the router will use ?

Cheers

Terry

Get yourself a copy of DMT, then you can change the target SNR margin. 585 modems can alter the sync speed without re-booting, but obviously a re-sync is required.

That would mean that when the SNR margin is low, say overnight, he could risk syncing at a lower speed than he wanted. What would be good is a command similar to the Draytek's ie maxdnrate, where you set the maximum sync rate , and it wont matter what time of day or night it is, it will always sync at maximum specified.
I have the same problem, my line will sync at 6000+ in the day but come night time, its more like 5000, so ideally i need to set the max sync rate to 5000, which has the effect of a strong snr in the day, but still reliable overnight. As it stands my router resyncs down at night, which is fine, but if there is a resync in the day it goes back up again.
Hope that makes sense?!!
