Speedtouch 585 v6 firmware

Just got my 585 from dsldepot, and they have sent me a v6 according to the box.

I can't get dmt to work with it, keeps telling me it can't identify modem, and the firmware issue is apparently 5.4.0.11....is this the latest firmware?

Latest V6 firmware is 6.1.4.3

Make sure you've got the correct DMT, there are various flavours. You need DMT v7.31

I got a 585(i) v6 from dsldepot today too.

It had v5.4.0.11 firmware. I've upgraded it to 6.1.4.3 from speedtouch.co.uk website.

But when I use DMT v7.31, I don't see the ModemOption tabs after logging into the router. I just see 'info1', 'info2' and 'info3'. Only 'info1' has any useful information in it.

Anyone know what I might have overlooked?

You need to go to the options of DMT and enable the extra tabs from the menu.

in DMT go Special -> Misc Options -> then check "unlock experimental area (modem options/last tab)"

I'm being a bit more stupid than normal today. Spent several hours trying to work out and cursing why every time I set a password on the router only to find I could not log in afterwards, before I realised the Administrator username is case sensitive and there is a known login bug with IE7....
