Draytek IP Routing Problem

[link to this post]

I have a strange problem with my Draytek 2910G router. As long as i am using NAT with a single public IP address for the router everything is fine. However if I assign my computers routable IP's using the second subnet feature of the router some websites do not load - although I can ping the hosts. This happens with the BT download test page (http://www.btopenworld.com/speedtest) and quite a few other ones.
When browsing to that page the browser eventually times out. Any ideas?
My ISP is Zen and I am on the ADSL Max product with 8 static IP's (5 in practise).

Sounds like a DNS issue. (Are your computers set to use the IP addresses of your ISP's DNS servers?)

But you could also check that the computers are using the right gateway address.

Not DNS - as stated i can ping the hosts without problems, and it only occurs for some websites (i can't identify any commonality between the ones that fail though). Also it couldn't be a problem with DHCP setting the default gateway for the same reasons.

bump.

MSN also fails to sign-in when using a routable IP instead of a non-routable one. Very odd.

You could try asking about this over on the DrayTek UK Forum.

Sounds like a problem I have with my Netgear, try setting the MTU to 1458.

One step ahead of you, already posted on Draytek UK forum and Zen forum. I tried changing MTU to 1492 which resulted in Live Mesngeser complaining that it couldn't access contact lists (on private subnet). Tried changing to 1458 - Live Messenger didn't complain but it didn't fix the problem either.
