ADSL Modem for Audio Streaming and Range ?

Hi,

I have a Pinnacle soundbridge audio streamer. When I use it my Belkin 7630 router doesn't seem to like it after a while, the wifi network slows down ( I don't use wires) and you have to power cycle the router to get everything back up.
The sounbridge doesn't work to well in the kitchen either only about 20 ft from router but two brick wall in between. Sounbridge say 60% signal at -80dB.

So I'm looking at a Netgear DG834N but just read loads of terible reviews for it.
Not too impressed with the Belkin as my wireless print server won't work with it.
Now I'm confused again.

Was thinking of the Linksts WAG 300N as an alternative or the D-Link 2740.

Would like to extend to the garden too that is why I'm looking at Pre N stuff.
I need to use Nortel Continity VPN client and Cisco VPN clients too for work stuff.

Any recommendations ?
