How do I configure my 2wire?

Hi,

After receiving some advice on this forum I bought an unlocked 2wire 2700 HGV router for my long noisy and unpredictable line.

My problem is it did eventually sync, but when I tried to get online I couldnt configure it for my isp and my signal has dropped out again!!!

Can anyone help a novice?

tell us what you did so far.

If the DSL light is still flashing to show no sync then you're going nowhere fast. Is it the same in the test socket behind the master faceplate ?

Hi, follow the instructions�

BT Business Hub 2Wire BT2700HGV router.

Type http://192.168.1.254 in your web browser address bar and press enter, from the router System Summary page, click Setup, Run System Setup Wizard.

SET UP YOUR BT2700HGV

Use Manual Key Code: 5225 � 2374 � WG62 � 22AS � BJ7P

Click, [Advanced] then input your ISP settings�

TIME ZONE (GMT) Greenwich Mean Time, Dublin, Edinburgh, London.

Click, NEXT

Select Connection Type:PPPoA

VIP:0 (this is a zero)
VCI:38
ATM Encapulation:Routed VC-Mux

Click, NEXT

Go to http://192.168.1.254 from the router System Summary page click, Broadband Link -> Advanced Settings -> at (Broadband Link Advanced Settings) page. Input your ISP Username and Password. After you have input the settings�

All you need to cofigure this locked router for any ADSL ISP.

Note: [Do Not click Save] To save your ISP settings within the router, paste�

Note: When the router default IP address 192.186.1.254 is changed for security reasons, at page http://192.168.1.254 from the router System Summary page click, Local Network -> Advanced Settings -> at (Edit Advanced Local Network Settings) page, here you click [save] to save the settings.

If the ISP broadband link drops-out, to reconnect�

Go to http://192.168.1.254 then from the router System Summary page click, Broadband Link -> Diagnostics -> at the (Broadband Link Diagnostics) page, click [TEST].

Very Important. When the 2Wire BT 2700HGV router will not connect to the Internet.
Un-check: Enable Router behind Router alert
Display alert when another router is connected to this router. click [SUBMIT]Settings
