Dongle recommendation

[link to this post]

I've got a Netgear DG834GT router and need a dongle for my second PC and wondering if anyone could recommend something on a budget. My main PC has a Netgear WG111T dongle which at about 30 quid is a bit pricey for a backup. I've had a search about and it seems quite a few of the Netgear dongles are iffy. Budget say 20 quid tops. Im using XP Home.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

I've got one of these;

http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/Shop/ShopDetail.asp?ProductID=7245.

I've had no problems with it using a ZyXEL 660; Speedtouch 585 v6 or a Thomsom 585 v7 - XP Home/Business and Vista

At 13 it's well within your budget.

P.S. Don't bother with the 'software' that comes with it, it's easier to set it up with Windows; you just need the driver that's on the CD

Hi, how about the Edimax EW-7318USG USB dongle, it is different and has good reviews. But the offered rubber duck upgrade seems to be a dead duck.

i would have thought if you have a GT you would at least want a dongle which supports the enhanced 108mb (turbo g+??) range and throughput, even if in real-world performance it might not be that much of an improvement over standard 54mb 802.11g. here's one:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-108MBPS-WIRELESS-USB-ADAPTER-802-11G-SUPER-G-108_W0QQitemZ350087281748QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item350087281748&_trkparms=72%3A12|39%3A1|66%3A2|65%3A12&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14.l1318

note that i am in no way endorsing this product or seller, its just the first decent-looking one which i found in a 5sec ebay search.
