ADSL router that takes DD-WRT firmware?

[link to this post]

I'm interested in playing with the DD-WRT open source firmware.

I'm happy to shell out a few quid for a new router that will take it - my current routers are not compatible.

However, I'm not clear whether any ADSL routers will take it or whether it works only with pure routers.

Any suggestions for hardware that works well with the firmware?

When you say ADSL router - the DD-WRT firmware appears to be only for devices with an Ethernet WAN port, not one with an ADSL port.

There is an ADI engineering Coyote with option for an ADSL card,

As Mr Saffron says only ethernet WAN routers as far as I know. I've flashed a few Buffalo routers with DD-WRT and it is much better than the stock firmware.

My own connection (as would most people in the U.K. on ADSL) is PPPoA. I currently have a Linksys WRT54GL router flashed with Tomato 1.21 firmware (alternative to DD-WRT), and use a Draytek Vigor 110 modem which acts as a pure PPPoE to PPPoA bridge. The Vigor is connected to the Linksys WAN port. The router handles the ISP login details. Seems to work pretty well so far.
