With that line - stick with the 2700. There is nothing else as good - and you have experience of how good it is.
Get a small 8 port Gigabit switch and connect that to the hub. Connect ALL devices to te switch and you have a Gigabit LAN. Only traffic to/from the outside world, some management traffic and access to the WAP will be carried on the 100Mb link between switch and hub and as the DSL link will be well under that speed and even wireless will almost certainly be it will not compromise performance.
Let the Hub do what it does best - act as a Modem, initial firewall, DHCP server &C and have a separate switch to move traffic around. I used a 2700 with an attached 24 port switch without any problems until I moved to Infinity where I now have a 2701 straight into teh same switch.
You can get a small Cisco/Linksys for around £45
