Using new super hub vmdg480 with vmdg280

Hi guys,

A quick question to those who are more cable broadband experienced than myself,

Is it possible to use the new virgin media super hub 480 as a modem for the old superhub 280?

I tried this earlier and couldn't get it to work.

You may ask why I wold want to do this, I wish to do this because of the poor reliability of the new virgin router.

My friend gets 30meg so just using the old router isn't an option as the vmdg280 only supports 20meg.

Tried connecting the new sh, to the old one via the port closest to the coax on the new sh to eathernet port 1/2 on the old router.

Is it because the old vmdg280 doesn't have a wan port?

To use the old 280 as a router, yes it needs to have a WAN Ethernet port
