Flint2 vs VM SH5 wifi advice

[link to this post]

I have recently moved into a new house and ordered VM Gig1.

I always like to run my own kit, no matter what ISP and I also want to avoid Virgin's dreaded DNS.

I have used my iPhone 13 Pro as a test and frequently get over 1000Mbps on the SH5 yet on the Flint2, it seems to be running on AC and I top out at around 800Mbps.

The Flint is on CH100 (DFS) with 80Mhz bandwidth.

The SH5 is on CH36, not sure on the bandwidth.

Any idea why the iPhone is not using wifi AX on the Flint2? The flint is configured for AC/AX on the band selection.

I cant say why it would be doing that.

I am set for AC/AX 160Mhz Bandwidth and Channel is on Auto. Security is set to WPA3-SAE.

I have a 2gb connection with Yayzi and I can get around 1.7Gbps via wifi on my iPhone 15 Pro Max

It could be the 80Mhz bandwidth you have chosen.

Connection Speed: DL: 2Gpbs UL: 1Gpbs
Speed test: DL 2Gbps UL: 945Mbps

Are you using both Hub 5 and Flint2 at the same time? Is the Flint2 in repeater mode?
Have you tried the Hub 5 in modem mode and the Flint2 as the sole router?

I have done a bit of research and it seems I am not the only Apple user using a Flint 2 noticing the speeds are a bit lower than they should be.

With 160Mhz bandwidth, my laptop maxes out my Gig1 connection. The iPhone gets to about 920Mbps. It is using 80Mhz, I don't think the 13 Pro is even 160Mhz compatible.

80mhz will do it.

It wont get past 1.2Gpbs for the connection speed IIRC and of course the actual transfer speed will be lower.
