En5861 and DSL Max

[link to this post]

Hi,

Just in the process of getting my Nildram connection regraded to DSL Max at 8Mb and suddenly had a thought. I've got an Efficient 5861 Router that I've had since I first got ADSL 5 and a bit years ago. I've had no problems except a blown power supply, replaced with a spare I had, in all that time and it does everything I need. Will this still work with DSL Max or do I need to get a new router pronto before the regrade happens?

Cheers,

Mark S.

I have just migrated on Eclipse, and the 5861 is syncing at 8000 without any problem, however the connection only stays up for 20-30 seconds at most, then it disconnects and reconnects again. Not sure if this is related to the 10 days bedding in period, but I'm not very happy with it.

Is this ok now or did you have to get another router?

I am about to be upgraded to Max and I also use a 5861.

thanks,

David.

I am also seeing this behaviour. I'm in the initial 10 day speed testing period, but the EN5861 disconnects every 30 seconds, whereas a Netgear DG834 can stay up for hours at a time.
