Billion 7402G - QoS

[link to this post]

Hi,

Considering the above router as a replacement for my ageing Netgear DG834G. I'm interested in being able to give things like P2P activity a lower priority while playing online games and it also seems to support a max limit on the sync. speed which would hopefully allow my connection to be more stable.

Had a play around with the config menus at

http://www.ozcableguy.com/tech/7402G/index.html

But in the QoS part it looks like you can only set a maximum of 10 prioritisation, 10 outbound & 10 inbound IP throttling rules. This seemed a bit limited given that some applications use many ports and they may not be in a continuous order either so you couldn't just apply 1 general sweeping rule to cover a range of ports for an application.

Just wondered if anyone has any experience of this router and if they are able to confirm the above. Is there any way round this limit? (Updated firmware / adding extra entries through the CLI / ability to load/save a QoS configuration / alternative router model that supports "unlimited" QoS entries?)

Thanks in advance for any advice,

Paul
