Which Router

[link to this post]

Ok i'm pulled between two routers, i've heard both of them are good at holding long/noisy lines and i've also read that they can give some improvement on current syncs over the Netgear router i currently have, both of them also work with DMT, just which one do i buy.

It will help if you mention the two routers that you are considering.

Maybe it is, but is it as good as the other two at holding longer lines and maybe improving the current sync rate over my Netgear router?.

Both the belkin and 585 are good at long lines, ive got both, on a 63db line (currently using the belkin)

The belkin wont save the snr tweaks though if you have to reboot. The Speedtouch will.

The speedtouch has a horrible web interface, but the belkins is pretty easy to get round.

You get the benefit of DMT with Speedtouch but which netgear do you have. I've found both the dg834g V2 and V3 good at holding long noisy lines. My mums Max line on a Zyxell would sync at 1 mbit and often fall over a couple of times a day. Her DG834G v3 hasn't reset in 2500 hrs with a DSL uptime of 600 hours syncs at 3.2 Mbit.
