I'm using a 3com OfficeConnect ADSL Router bought new in Feb 07 for my first time connection to Broadband.
ISP is Newnet
PC is a P4 3ghz Pentium with 512mb RAM
Here's a link to the speed tests I've run;
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest/results/id/118168431871330924930.html
I tried to run a test on the BT Speedtester twice tonight and got 'The system is currently busy. Please try again shortly, however if this problem persists, raise the issue with your service provider'
I'm using the Router wired, not wirelessly
I currently have the following green lights on the router;
Power
Sync
Online (steady at the moment, but wasn't earlier tonight)
WLAN
Port 1
Looking at the Router GUI (is that the correct term ?)
Software Version 1.00.00
Data Rate: Upstream 448kbps, Downstream 6208kps
Operation Data: Upstream: Noise Margin 24db, Attenuation 49db
Operation Data: Downstream: Noise Margin 2147483647db, Attenuation 43db
Hardware Status
Port Speed Duplex
LAN Port #1 No Link No Link
LAN Port #2 No Link No Link
LAN Port #3 No Link No Link
LAN Port #4 100 Full Duplex
None of the above means anything to me, but that big figure on Downstream Noise looks a bit odd ? And why does it show port 4 operating when only port 1 is plugged in.
Do hope someone technical can help me here, as I'm feeling a bit desperate.
