BT2700HGV random problems

[link to this post]

Hi, have recently moved to bt business broadband and received the bt2700hgv. after approx 2 weeks, my internest service became very random, loss of wireless signal on my laptop, slow response and at times, no wireless signal at all. i've replaced the bt2700 after complaining at BT, nt still experiencing the problem. sometimes I "REPAIR" and it works, sometimes just "CONNECT TO". Sometimes just switch the BT2700 off/on.

The bizarre thing is that its not limited to just my laptop but 2-3 laptops/desktops in my family.

Any help welcomed. BT2700 has latest firmware. laptops either XP Prof or Invista Home.

If the router is laid flat, try putting it upright on the stand. The internal aerials are then better positioned.

Hi, try change your BT2700HGV router wireless broadcast to channel 5 and select only wireless mode: 802.11g and see if that improves the wireless connection.

http://192.168.1.254/xslt?PAGE=C05

Wireless Mode: 802.11g

DTIM Period: 3

Maximum Connection Rate: 54Mbps

Configure your LAN (Local Area Network) wired and wireless with static IP Address, I find it makes for a more positive and quicker connection to the network.
