speed difference

Hi,

I have a BE ADSL2 connection.

There's a big speed difference between my two routers. The "bebox" that the ISP provided gives me approx 11mbps, but the Safe@Office box I have, which I use for VPN connectivity only seems to peak at about 8mbps.

Any ideas?

are you talking about the data throughput here or the sync speed ? If the former, is this via VPN or on a straight connection.

I mean the data throughput, using speed tests.
No VPN.

do they connect at the same speed ?

I think so - the Safe@office doesn't actually list a connection speed.

Hmm. The most obvious candidate is that one is connecting at 8M with G.dmt and the other is using ADSL2+ at a faster speed.

Without the connection speed we would be guessing.

The Safe@Office is configured for ADSL2+...

OK, new question then. How do I determine the connection speed on a Safe@Office 500W?

time to RTFM or ask the support.

does it have a 'show dsl' or similar command ?
