Lets hope it improves things smile

What is the attenuation of your other line? It's got a decent sync especially with it's TSNR.

If possible it's always useful to know the line stats of your neighbours!

My attenuation is 51db as I mentioned. My close neighbours are about the same and the people I know on route to the exchange (which is about 3.2k away) I see the attenuation dropping so it's pretty obvious if the line has a 'normal' attenuation of if there's some bad wiring/joints/quality etc.

Attenuation of the other line is:
43db downstream

Still no disconnects so far smile

Quite a difference. Once things have settled down you might like to try your new v4 Broadcom Netgear on the other line to see what attenuation that reports.

What time of day did your dropouts used to start?

Sorry to revive an old thread - since I last posted things have been fairly stable (compared to how they were with the other router etc) - but recently its become more tempermental with both sync speeds and disconnects - while the other line never disconnects and sync's double to what my line manages (frustrating!) - So I thought I'd ask here if there is anything else I could try, or wether I'm stuck with it as it is!

Thanks,

Not sure which router is in use but I'm assuming it's the DG834Gv4 (Broadcom chipped) so you could tweak the SNR settings for sync speed or stability by using DGTeam firmware (at your own risk)

I find it useful for tweaking the router on my 60.5dB downstream attenuation line (using a DG834GT)

Have a good read of the Tutorial > http://dgteam.netsons.org/index.php?pid=16

Firmware for DG834(G)-V4 > http://dgteam.netsons.org/index.php?pid=11
