Re: 2wire 2700hg - sync lower than expected

[re: gyre] [link to this post]

Probably has been resolved. Sort of.

Turns out although I'd asked for the banding to be completely removed, there was still banding left on my line, albeit at just over 4k. Not that I'd ever get there smile

I've had that removed, and now the modem correctly syncs at the max rate. Not 500kbps lower anymore.

Other things of interest after the reset that might have caused it to sync correctly:

The target snr margin is now 9dB rather than 6dB. Not what I'd asked for, but I guess it was some kind of default used on the line reset.

The other main thing that was changed was apparently my impulse noise protection was up at 4 beforehand. That is now down to 1. 4 seems remarkably high to me.

Whatever was done to the line, that seems to have solved the problem... for now.

DSL Down Up
Current Rate: 2683 kbs 444 kbs
Max Rate: 2683 kbs 995 kbs
Current Connection:
Current Noise Margin: 6.9 dB 14.0 dB
Current Attenuation: 63.0 dB 41.8 dB
Current Output Power: 17.6 dBm -31.0 dBm
