Re: Draytek 2710n question?

[re: Anonymous] [link to this post]

You may have already found it, but if you could try and telnet to the router and issue the commands:

adsl rxpct 100
adsl txpct 100

This seems tell the router at what percentage of max sync speed to actually sync to the ISP with. It appears to default to 80 for some reason. My sync improved a lot after this although my actual speed only improved slightly (I'm on a terrible line). You will probably need to reboot the router afterwards.

Just need to point out that you have to do
adsl reboot
in telnet as well for it to apply.

Just wish I could figure out the syslog for router logging and the UPnP and firewall dos protection settings?

Sorry for what may be a record for reviving an old thread, but it was just thrown up in a search while I was sorting a Dratek Vigor 2710n problem. I print a Router Sys Log as follows, bearing in mind I use a Mac, but it should give enough info to telnet in with a Windows PC and may help another user.
Assuming the router IP is 192.168.1.1, also please remove " quotes,
press the enter key once each of these commands has been entered.
1. In Finder, go to Applications then Utilities and in there select
Terminal
2. Enter "telnet 192.168.1.1 23"
3. Enter the password for the router.
4. Enter "adsl status"
5. Enter "show status"
6. Enter "sys ver dbg"
7. Go to the Shell menu in Terminal and select Export Text As to save the text output to a
specified location.
8. Once that has finished, you can type "exit" to end the session.

Don't want to abuse this thread, but hought you could help.

Hopefully you 2710n owners can answer this for me?

does it have Wireless Rate Control and Bind IP to MAC features?

I'm thinking of buying one and needs these.

Thanks
