That's because most people leave the channel selection option to 'auto' which hardly ever works well on any router. If you manually select the least congested wifi channel (use something like inssider) then you will find the 7800N gives excellent wifi range/speed

I'd second that, "Auto" is a menace.

The wireless performance of mine improved just by manually selecting the same channel that "Auto" said it was connected to (channel 1) (), and a lot more when iStumbler indicated that channel 4 wasn't busy.
