Bonded ADSL Router

Im looking for an ADSL router to "bond" 2 TalkTalk ADSL2 lines some time before the end of the year.

I dont want to be spending a fortune on one either if i can help it.

Dont need to have wireless or loads of ethernet ports. 1 will do.

Anyone got any recommendations?

"Bonding" requires something the ISP end too, do you really mean bonding or do you mean load-balancing?

I looked in to this myself and it does totally depend on what you're looking to achieve. As Batboy says - bonding requires the ISP to support it (or a third party service like Shareband) and gives you (for example) 1x16Mbit lines made up of 2 actual phone lines.

Load balancing would give you 2xMbit and the ability to spread the load across both.

I would suggest looking at your usage pattern and seeing if you are killing the bandwidth with single applications or an aggregate of multiple sessions. The solution I went for was to have a LLU talk talk line and a BT (plusnet) line both hooked to a Draytek Vigor 2830N.

The router then shares sessions across the two lines and I also interfere to force some down a particular one (eg Apple TV down the unlimited line).

This also gives me resilience (in some small way) but the ability to add an additional 3G dongle increases that too.

Perhaps telling us a bit more about what you're trying to achieve/ use your bandwidth for would help?

Its more load balencing im looking for it seems.

4 people in the house sharing, at the moment an 8mb down and 448k up connection.

As we are switching to TalkTalk LLU We will be getting a 24mb down and 1mb up connection.

Planning on seeing how things go once it connected. If we are still struggling then im going to get a 2nd line put in by TT and then maybe get that Draytek router you speak off to help even the load over the 2 lines. Like send all gaming and web traffic down 1 line and streaming like netflix etc down the other.
