ADSL Faceplate

I recently ordered an ADSL Faceplate but received an I-plate!

How can a faceplate greatly improve sync/speed, surely using a filter is the same whether it be built in to the faceplate or seperate?

I don't see the point in this I-plate because all it does is replace the cover of the original except with a built in filter, no wiring to be completed...

the iPlate filters the ring wire only, so it can be helpful and is designed to be easy to install without needing a rewire.

The faceplate filters are full ADSL filters that can filter the whole setup centrally meaning you don't need dangle filters.

As yarwell says. Plus - standard dangly filters don't filter the ring wire.

And some filtered faceplates will give you the option of connecting a CAT5 cable to the A&B terminals on the back which will allow an alternative location for a modem/router, a phone can still be used connected to the front of the filtered faceplate and any extension wiring (preferably a maximum of 2 extensions) will also be filtered connected to terminals 2 & 5.

The filtered faceplate I had caused no end of connection problems. It wasn't until I replaced it with a dangly filter that my connection problems ceased. It's now never been so stable! My router was connected for over 60 days until it was interrupted by me. That is on a fairly long line 4+KM.

You were done! Send it back. You can do the job of an I-plate manually yourself.

Better still deal with someone that knows what they're talking about. I've dealt with Clarity for some years with no probs. No they're not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.

I just read the OP again.

I don't think he did receive an iPlate. That doesn't replace anything, particularly any cover.

Anyway, that was April.

My ADSL Nation filtered faceplate has been no problem.
