Better force all car manufacturers to limit their products to 70mph then, in the same way as many voluntarily do to 155mph.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 54.2/15.2Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

But speed limits are clearly displayed on uk roads yet there is no warning on routers such as "it is illegal to use channels 149-161 in Europe, you risk prosecution by the wifi police if you do". If there was such a warning displayed then pretty sure OP wouldn't be asking.

The instructions tell you to select the appropriate regulatory domain.

As for traffic signs - they do not say you may be prosecuted if you exceed xx MPH.

If you buy a knife it does not have a warning saying that you will be prosecuted if you use it as a weapon ...

Thanks all, didn't post for a debate but interesting.

I just wanted to know which country selection offered the higher power output when selecting the 'regulatory domain'.

I had the old BT (2Wire) Router and dependant on the country you selected, you could manually increase the power output. I don't think it opened up any additional wifi channels.

Thanks all smile

A few years back I used to be on the CB and near me there was someone with an amplified setup (which is illegal btw) and when he used to transmit I didn't have a chance of getting out (bleeding over as it was referred to)

If you up the power of your wi-fi you may risk doing the same to your neighbours and you may well have ofcom knocking at your door.

Google Wireless Telegraphy Act UK or just click this link http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Wireless+Telegraphy+Act+UK

Virgin (ADSL) => Namesco => Newnet => O2 => Plusnet => Zen => Newnet => Zen => Freeola => Vivaciti (using O2 Wholesale DSL) => Xilo (C&W Wholesale) => Xilo (O2 Wholesale)
Router: Billion 7800N
