Thanks for the replies. Even more problems now. BE have cancelled my connection because they say Vivaciti have taken over the supply even though I only started the migration over yesterday. Can't get through to Vivaciti customer services either to find out what is happening so no internet at the moment. Using my phone but eating into my data plan. That's another subject though. I will get back once i have my internet sorted out.

Hey tommy45.
I can't log in via your link either. I've clicked on the forgotten password link and an email should of been sent with a temporary log in but that has not arrived in my inbox.
What about the e-mail that be sent you after you signed up to their service , one of these would have contained you account log in details , so unless you changed the password ,the one in the e-mail should work

Vivaciti's support phone number is 01702 410 043

Regarding the router you are probably out of luck as these are manufactured for service providers for bundling with their services although some sell them (which is a cheek in my view) but with customised firmware which may or may not include locking of the accepted login details but even so you will find it difficult to obtain firmware images from anyone other than the supplying ISP and other ISPs will not take on supporting it even if they supply the same router, there is no such thing as vanilla (non customised) firmware for it,

Send it back to BE or bin it and invest in one that is not tied to anyone.

I have had a word with my neighbours and they are letting me use their wireless connection. I'm only getting dial up speed but am grateful to them. It's nice to get on with your neighbours. That was a song wasn't it.

I joined up with BE 7 years ago and have deleted the original emails from then. I also have changed my email address and passwords since then. I spoke to BE this morning and they have confirmed they have closed my account.

I have called both the freephone and local number for Vivaciti support, Both go to a recorded message to request a call back which i have done. I have opened a support ticket but have had no contact from them.

Thanks Fredfox for the new link. That looks like it could be what i need. It is a bit complicated for me to do without guidance as i do have some technical knowledge but not when it comes to routers. I don't want to muck things up and brick my router.

Previously when i have changed ISP's it has been a pretty straight forward process. This all is starting to give me a headache. Even the link on the Vivaciti website to their hardware sales page is a dead link so i cannot even see what routers they sell.

Go to somewhere like Amazon and search for ADSL router.

If you log into the Vivaciti portal what does the connection status say, does it say it should be active or does it give a future date for activation.

When you spoke to BE you didn't mention the word cancellation did you? you should have just asked for your MAC and placed the order with Vivaciti using the MAC.

Only when you were safely connected with Vivaciti should you have told BE you wanted a final bill from them.

In the Vivaciti portal it does not say "Active" It gives the "Activation date" as the 10/07/2013.
When i called BE i asked for my MAC code and nothing else. I got an email from them giving me the MAC code and when it expires and then another email stating my cancellation would be on 22/07/2013.
When i spoke to BE this morning they said Vivaciti have "taken over the supply"

I have even sent a PM message to Vivaciti on this forum but still have not heard anything from them and still cannot get through to anyone on their support numbers.
Not a very good start from Vivaciti!

Try logging a ticket on Vivaciti's own site as some ISPs respond to PMs, some dont so log it via their own system.

I've been calling them since 10am this morning on both their support numbers. I left a message on their answer machine to call me back. I opened a support ticket on their own site and have sent a PM as i know they monitor these boards. Still not as much as an acknowledgement from them. Really not a good show from them!!
