Can you please confirm that you are using a Smart Hub (AKA HomeHub 6) on a John Lewis connection. I'm with John Lewis, but my Home Hub 6 will not take a [email protected]. It will take user names ending with

@plusdsl.net
@plusnet.co.uk
@btinternet.com
@btbroadband.com
@dsl2.net
@f9.co.uk

but not @John-Lewis.com


My password is kosher, no exotic characters.

If you read their post they are using a Plusnet branded HomeHub with John Lewis.

The Plusnet Branded HH is a HH5A.

The BT Smarthub/Homehub 6 will not take the username, as you have noticed already.

No way around this.

You can certainly use Home Hubs on BTw based ISPs, having used them with several.

I currently have one running on a John Lewis provided Connection (admittedly a Plusnet White label) eg @john-lewis.com.

The thing I did find is the Smart Hub doesn't like passwords with special characters and had to change my JL one.

The Smarthub (aka HH6) will not work with all BTw ISP's.
As pointed out in the previous post they will only accept certain usernames.
