Generally a mistake unless you mount the FB to the wall. The UK network operators (e.g. Openreach, Virgin Media, nexFibre, CityFibre, and the smaller alt nets) in the majority install a small, powered, ONT, and then you can use any router you like connected via Ethernet. The Cat5e/6/6a cable from the ONT to the router is more resilient to home life issues than having the fibre come through the wall and connect to an all in one ONT/Router on a desk.

Even mounted on the wall, it is still a mistake, because routers are changed more often than ONT's and the requirement for a suitable wall mount just narrows the choice of replacement.
