Well ... they all look the same to me!

I just assumed (incorrectly I guess) that the wire going into the patch panel was directly linked ...

Can you trace that wire through ... is it the same as on the patch panel? I would jope not as there should be a demarcation point.

Just order it, the installing engineer will sort it out. The patch panel, is that for telephony or data or both ? If both or just data, then that's the ideal spot for the NTE/FTTC kit, then you just patch it to where it's required.
